Character Self catering holiday cottage, Ollerton Village
Savile House, named after the Savile family who owned the Rufford Estate, dates back to the 1800’s and has spent it’s history as a variety of shops including a newsagent, a confectionery shop and a post office to name a few. The house was converted into a residential home 6 years ago by the previous owner. Being new owners, we have made some subtle improvements to the property and this will be ongoing. We have been working on the rear garden, having moved the pebbles and installed a patio area and beds for planting. Savile House is well proportioned with a lovely beamed sitting room and a big kitchen with a large oak dining table, a great social space. There are 3 bedrooms, a master with king sized bed, and 2 single bedded rooms. WiFi is provided along with bed linen, towels and a welcome pack. Outside enclosed patio garden. We welcome well behaved dogs (not puppies under 6 months) and children over 8 years of age.
We, along with our family, stay in the Savile House regularly, so it really is a comfortable ‘home from home.’

The sitting room is a lovely sized room with beams. It is the only room with a lower ceiling at just over 6 feet at it’s lowest point. We have two comfy 3 seat sofa’s and footstool, coffee tables, a 40″ Panasonic Smart TV and rustic flooring. The rear door has an opening tilt and turn window opening onto the tiered west facing patio garden.
Fabulously spacious kitchen, fully equipped with built in oven, hob, fridge freezer, microwave, 5 foot oak dining table with chairs and bench seat as well as a full range of cutlery, crockery, pots, pans and cooking utensils. For your convenience there is a washer/dryer and dishwasher. There are 2 windows, the original front shop window with it’s Georgian panes, and a upvc side window looking up Station Road.
The stairs are at the rear of the kitchen and there is a door at the bottom of the stairs enabling you to close the kitchen off from the stairs.
There are 3 bedrooms. Large master with king sized bed and two single bedrooms . The master bedroom is a very spacious room with a vaulted ceiling. There is a wardrobe and chest of drawers along with 2 bedside tables. There is a window to the front and a small roof window to the rear. The middle bedroom is a cosy single bedded room with a 3’0″ bed, bedside table, single wardrobe and drawers. The third bedroom is another single with 3’0″ bed, side table and lamp. Window to the side.
We have a fully tiled modern bathroom. Bath with shower over, sink with vanity unit underneath and mirror above. WC and radiator. There is a small roof window for ventilation.
Outside is an enclosed patio garden with table and chairs and a gate to the rear parking area. The parking space is accessed via the side of the house, and please note that there is a tight corner to negotiate. You have to reverse your car out of the space carefully as it is narrow for a few feet! You can also park your car a little higher up the road outside Hamlyn Antiques.
Pricing, Availability & Booking
A deposit of £100 will secure your booking. The remaining balance is then due 30 days prior to your holiday.
Discounts are automatically applied to the nightly rate for short breaks of 4, 5 or 6 nights on the booking calendar.
*Please note that a refundable good housekeeping deposit of £70.00 will be due with the final balance, which will be refunded to you within 7 days after your holiday.
